Cats Need Your Help

There was a fire at the headquarters of Animalkind last night. Fortunately, no animals were injured or lost, but this morning, an army of volunteers was busy moving cats and equipment out of the building.

The organization has found temporary shelter in the storefront at the nearby Warren Inn, but there is still a need for volunteers to provide temporary foster homes for cats and kittens and to help do the laundry (there was an extensive amount of water damage) on Friday at 7:45 p.m. at the laundromat in Fairview Plaza. If you can help, contact katrin@animalkind.info.

Here's the link to CBS6 Albany's coverage of the fire. There is also an updated article in the Register-Star.

  1. Thanks for your post about the fire at Animalkind headquarters. I just heard the news on the local radio and did an internet search for more info. I'm relieved to hear that no animals were injured or lost, but still terribly sad news. This organization does such amazing work for animals, my heart goes out to them!
