In Memoriam

William lost another contemporary today, and Hudson lost one of its best known and best loved dogs: Buster, of the Red Dot.

To be honest, William and Buster were not friends. Even though they'd both lived in Hudson since 1999, they only met once, and that wasn't under the best of circumstances. One summer night, maybe as many as ten years ago, William and I were walking on the north side of Warren Street. It was well after 9, and it was unusual for us to be that far from home that late at night, but it was a beautiful night, and we were enjoying being out. When we were opposite the Red Dot, Buster and his sidekick Augie (that's Augie on the left in the picture) came bounding out of the restaurant. William and I braced for whatever was coming, but just before they reached us, they halted their hurtling approach when Alana and Denise called them back.

Farewell, Buster Boy. You will be missed by all who knew you.
