Mrs. Greenthumbs Day, commemorating Cassandra Danz, Hudson's most talented and exuberant gardener, is less than three weeks away, but there is still time to volunteer your garden for this open garden day in Hudson. Mrs. Greenthumbs Day is your chance to show off the garden you love, work hard at, and are proud of to fellow gardeners, gardener wannabes, and garden appreciators, and a chance for people of Hudson and visitors to our city to see the beauty of Hudson's secret gardens, concealed behind buildings and fences and only glimpsed from the street.
On Mrs. Greenthumbs Day, which is Sunday, July 20, the gardens will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. If you want your garden to join the dozen or so gardens that are already part of this very special Hudson event, send an email to Gossips by Saturday, July 5, and your garden will be added to the map.

The other thing about Mrs. Greenthumbs is that she considered gardening FUN, not a competitive sport. She was nothing if not relaxed and flexible, as I remember her.
