The Hudson Valley is threatened with a power line expansion that could involve seizing more land by eminent domain or erecting taller and more unsightly towers. The "energy superhighway" proposal assumes that there is a pressing need for transmission upgrades, but does this need really exist?
Tomorrow, Dr. Gidon Eshel, recognized physicist and research professor at Bard College, will present the findings of his study of the need for the proposed upgrades and will reveal for the first time publicly his conclusions which prove that there is no need for additional transmission lines in the Hudson Valley.
Eshel will make his presentation at 1 p.m. tomorrow, October 18, at the Churchtown Firehouse on Route 27. Click here for a map showing the location of the meeting.
