A ramp is the typical means of getting people in wheelchairs and children in strollers from one level to another, but making a ramp aesthetically appealing is not easy. A case in point: the ramp being constructed in the new PARC linear park.

  1. Looking at this it makes you could say there are some places where you really shouldn't put a ramp, easier to go around the block. This looks like a ride at a theme park.

  3. this looks completely ridiculous -- kind of like the proposal for the 7th st park. completely unuseable and super expensive. alot of misguided low brow modernists with bad plans to make the world as ugly as possible

  4. When space is at a premium, a spiral ramp works best. Works for staircases.

  5. Another Hudson attraction ...
It may turn into a unique design anomaly that brings visitors from all over the world to see.

  7. Makes one wonder if Hudson had "community planner" if thing like this and 7th st park snafu would never leave the drawing board...and i don't mean yet another position appointed by the 'mayor' which keeps Hudson in the darkest of ages.
