Many of us who were friends or family to victims whose names are being read today are discomfited to realize that it's already ancient history for many young adults.
I remember being a kid in the '60s trying to appreciate the relatively few years that had passed since WWII. It wasn't easy, but maybe that had something to do with the Great Generation's reticence to speak about it.
