Reacting to the Events of Yesterday
In response to the press release issued by the Hudson Police Department reporting the arrest of Quintin Cross, Dan and Mary Udell submitted a letter to the editor of the Register-Star. They shared that letter with Gossips and gave permission for it to be published here.
Race Baiting
Race baiting is alive and well at the City of Hudson Police Department. In a scurrilous press release just issued by the Police Department on the arrest of Quintin Cross for an alleged credit card felony, Hudson Police Commission Gary Graziano said the following: "This is no surprise. Given his track record, it was only a matter of time for this wannabe activist and so-called leader to prove once again who he really is and what he really stands for."
Excuse me, Mr. Graziano, I thought in the United Stated we hold that the accused is innocent until proven guilty. It is shameful for the Police Commissioner to make such a statement before a trial.
The Police press release also gratuitously mentions another black man in Hudson who was accused in a stabbing incident. No connection whatsoever except as an excuse for a white police commissioner to smear black people. Three cheers for the Register-Star, which did not include this hateful reference.
