Yesterday, the Columbia County Department of Health announced the 98th death from COVID-19 in Columbia County. Today, the Register-Star reports that this most recent COVID death was a relatively young person who was unvaccinated: "Man under 40 is 98th COVID death." The article also reports that of the nine people hospitalized with the virus yesterday, only one was vaccinated. According to CCDH Director Jack Mabb, the vaccinated person who experienced break-through infection is "an older person who has comorbidities."
