And Then There Was One

Toward the end of October, the Hudson Housing Authority Board of Commissioners announced that, until they could find an executive director to replace Timothy Mattice, Nick Zachos and Aiesha Davie would be interim co-directors. At the HHA meeting this past Wednesday, Zachos told the board that Davie was no longer involved. He explained there was “no resignation or anything, because she never came onboard.” He went on to say she had provided no explanation of why she was quitting but intimated that she had not understood going in that her job would be that of co-director. He reminded the board of his commitment to serve as interim director for six months, until the end of April 2022, devoting 20 hours a week to HHA.

  1. I can't imagine why a woman with a Master's in Public Policy from an Ivy League School wouldn't want to share a position with a trust fund white dude with no relevant education or experience, a strained relationship with the truth, and a spotty performance record at his last job.

Like crop circles, the Great Pyramid, and the 2020 election, the scholars will be poring over this one for generations.

    1. Thanks John Kane. Speaking truth often goes un-rewarded in Hudson.

  2. It's definitely difficult trying to help out in your community and being bombarded with hatred and lies. I guess that's just part of the game that I still haven't gotten used to. But maybe I can try and find a positive in all of this if John can tell me what bank I need to go to in order to find this trust fund? No one ever told me about it or how to access it, and we could really use the extra money this time of year. Thanks again for all the warm holiday spirit.

  3. In defence of Nick Zachos, and his supposed Dodgy Latin, and has been economical with the truth... That's your opinion, all I ever saw was a hardworking, dedicated city employee, who looked out for more than himself.

    1. What I see is a Youth Dept finally being run by a director, at least so far, that we can be proud of. Liz is most definitely not a slob, which is a welcome change, especially at Oakdale Park, which Youth is responsible for maintaining. B Huston

    2. @ MbD- that's because Nick has cultivated that image (rarely going any deeper than optics, sadly) in part with the threat of litigation if anyone says anything critical about him, a trick that thankfully people are standing up to. It ain't libel if it's true.

And yes, BH, Liz is certainly a competent, drama-free breath of fresh air who has already found a good deal of taxpayer savings and seems to be turning the tanker around at the Youth Department. There is reason for optimism there.

    3. Oh you mean like when they tried to fire him and have someone who didn't live in Hudson take over? I would have hired a lawyer too. Aren't you the one who quit your city position?

    4. Every part of what you just said was generously sprinkled with fair trade, responsibly-sourced artisanal wrongness.

  4. Oh, poor Nick Zachos, "bombarded with hatred and lies." His life must be so difficult, let's all weep for him. B Huston

    1. Do you know Nick personally? Enough to comment on the state of his life? Childish and rude regardless of how you feel about his work.
