Earlier today, Matt Murell, chair of the Columbia County Board of Supervisors, shared the following information in a press release.
By midday today, the Columbia County Department of Health had recorded 43 new cases of COVID-19 infection, with 26 Saturday and 63 for Sunday-Monday.
There are currently 26 county residents hospitalized, with two individuals in the ICU, one at Columbia Memorial Health and one at Northern Dutchess Hospital. One is unvaccinated and one is vaccinated.
Of the 26 hospitalized, 14 are patients at CMH. Among those are a mother, son, and daughter, all unvaccinated.
Since the beginning of the school year, 435 new cases of COVID-19 have been recorded between students and teachers in the six county school districts.
