The number of active cases being reported today is 42 more than yesterday, from which it can be inferred that, since yesterday, 5 county residents have recovered from the virus. There are 47 more county residents in mandatory quarantine today than yesterday, 3 more are hospitalized, and 1 more is in the ICU. There has not been a death from COVID-19 in Columbia County since Wednesday, December 1.
The New York Forward dashboard is reporting a positivity rate for Columbia County today of 10.1 percent and a seven-day average of 8.8 percent. By comparison, the daily positivity rate for the Capital Region is 5.6 percent and the seven-day average is 7.0 percent.
A year ago today, the CCDOH reported 18 new cases of COVID-19. The total number of cases was 1,080, and the number of active cases was 86.
