COVID-19 Update

There are two days of COVID numbers from the Columbia County Department of Health to report. Since the last update on Tuesday, there have been 24 new cases of COVID-19--14 yesterday, and 10 today. The number of active cases being reported today is 2 more than on Tuesday, from which it can be inferred that, since Tuesday, 22 county residents have recovered from the virus. For more than a week now, the number of county residents hospitalized with the virus has been the same (4), and none has been in the ICU. There has not been a death from COVID-19 reported in Columbia County since March 3.


A year ago today, the CCDOH also reported 10 new cases of COVID-19, and the day before it was 11. The total number of cases on this day last year was 3,930, and the number of active cases was 71. There were 141 county residents in mandatory quarantine, 5 were hospitalized, and 3 were in the ICU. The total number of deaths attributed to COVID-19 at this time last year was 91.
