Gossips has shared this little news item about sidewalks before, but with the intensified effort to solve the problem and the fast-approaching deadline to do so, it seemed an appropriate time to share it again. It's from the Hudson Daily Star for August 5, 1851, and it provides a few hints about the sidewalks of Hudson 171 years ago: they were brick, they were the responsibility of the City, and there was reason to complain about them.
