It Isn't Over Until It's Over

Earlier this week, Gossips reported that the replica Half Moon was bound for the Netherlands, from whence the original Half Moon came more than four hundred years ago when Henry Hudson discovered and sailed the length of the river that bears his name. It seems, however, that the mayor of Albany, along with other elected officials in the Capital District, are not content to let the replica of the historic ship go. The Times Union reports that Mayor Kathy Sheehan held a press conference today to call for the Half Moon to remain in Albany: "Officials get on board for Half Moon."

You can support the effort to keep the Half Moon on the Hudson by signing a petition addressed to Dr. Andrew Hendricks, founder and chairman of the New Netherland Museum. Click here to access the petition.
