Ear to the Ground

Everyone loves and appreciates the work of Animalkind, but not everyone likes the mural on the Animalkind building in the 700 block of Warren Street. The good news is that it's not actually painted on the building. The bad news is that, when it first went up, code enforcement officer Peter Wurster gave it a sign permit. (The Historic Preservation Commission was never asked to issue a certificate of appropriateness, but it's possible that the mural has been around longer than the HPC.) Word on the street--literally heard on the street this evening while walking William--is that the mural is coming down. Look for it to happen sometime next week.
