News of the News

Today, for the first time since June 13, 1920, the New York Times has an editorial on the front page of the paper. In 1920, the editorial decried "The Nomination of Harding" at the Republican National Convention in Chicago. 

Today, the editorial decries "The Gun Epidemic."

    Whatever it means for the 2nd Amendment debate, is this really a healthy development for an allegedly major newspaper? It wafts of Pinch's latest gimmick, a cry for help in these desperate times for the 4th estate. It's like announcing you're prepared to go down with the ship ... whatever else it means for the ostensible issue.
