Yesterday was International Women's Day, and, as is her custom, in honor of the day, Assemblymember Didi Barrett released another volume--the sixth--of the booklet Women's History in the Hudson Valley: Ten Stories of Columbia and Dutchess Counties. This year, one of the ten women featured is none other that Alice Bradley Neal, the author of the original Gossips of Rivertown, this blog's inspiration and namesake.
The other women featured in the 2019 booklet are Cynthia Hall, Toshi Seeger, Dorothy Ball, Margaret Johnston Bard, Mother Ann Lee, Martha Gold Reifler Myers, Constance Oestrike Rudolph, Lillian Shadic, and Irene Kilmer Wilcox.
Copies of the booklet are available at the Hudson Area Library, or it can be viewed online by clicking here.
