Dear Diary,
I am addicted to "Spelling Bee" in the New York Times, sometimes going to the computer in the middle of the night to see what words I missed the day before. The point of the game is to see how many words you can spell with the seven letters provided in a honeycomb array, with the letter at the center of the array appearing in each word.
This morning, as I was getting started with today's letters, I saw the word bigly and, on a wicked whim, decided to try it, fully expecting to get the message "Not in word list." Instead I got the message "Good!"
"Micropolitan Diary" is Gossips' homage to and blatant imitation of "Metropolitan Diary" in the New York Times. The term micropolitan was coined (by Gossips) because Hudson is a metropolis in microcosm.

ReplyDeleteWhen you make it to "Genius," there are still more words to be found. You are dubbed "Queen Bee" when you have found all the words the creators have found.
DeleteWhodathunkit again! Although "bigly" was on the word list, "gibbet," a recognized word for gallows, was not.
