After the Plunge

The Oakdale Plunge, which took place at noon today, exceeded its goal of $40,000 by raising $46,086 for the Hudson Youth Department Waterfront Program and the Hudson Fire Department Water Rescue and Dive Team. Nearly 450 people donated to cause, and there were a reported 95 people who plunged into chilly waters of Oakdale Lake.

The team whose costumes won first place on the Costume Contest and the designation "Most Aqauatic" was "Invasive Species," dressed to represent invasive species found in Oakdale Lake--species that a project funded by a grant from the Columbia Land Conservancy intends to eliminate this spring.

Update:
You can now watch Lance Wheeler's video of the Oakdale Plunge on YouTube. Click here.

Correction: I have been advised the grant that is funding the project to eliminate evasive species in Oakdale Lake is from Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation.
