Another Thing to Do Tomorrow

Tomorrow is Hudson's Flag Day celebration. (Actual Flag Day is Tuesday, June 14.) The parade begins at 4:oo p.m. The orgy of fireworks begins after it gets dark, which will probably won't happen until well after 9:00 p.m. Between the parade and the fireworks, you can hang out in riverfront park eating carnival food, or you can enjoy some live music at the Park Theater, 723 Warren Street. The show, featuring Jules Olson and Lara Hope & the Ark-tones, begins at 7:00 p.m.

This Saturday's event at the Park Theater is to raise awareness for the restoration and preservation of the Hudson-Athens Lighthouse.

After the opening act, Jules Olson, finishes her set and before Lara Hope & the Ark-tones begin the first of their two sets, there will be a free community raffle. The winner will receive a tour and picnic for four at the lighthouse.

  1. Who makes the decisions for the parade? Specifically, the fireworks. Are the residents of Hudson demanding fireworks well after the parade is done? Do we have fireworks because "that's the way it's always been done?" Enough already!
