A Busy Day for the HPD

Sometime this morning, a guilty verdict was handed down in the trial of DiQuann Powell. After the verdict was read, Powell leapt over his defense attorney and attempted to run away. He was stopped by police officers. Natasha Vaughn-Holdridge has that story in the Register-Star: "Powell guilty of murder, tries to flee courtroom."

Also this morning, someone was shot at Southwood, an estate on the river in Clermont. The suspect fled the scene and was apprehended by police here in Hudson at the corner of Warren and Second streets. Roger Hannigan Gilson has that story in the Times Union: "Shooting at historic Columbia County estate leads to arrest."
