"Festival in a Field!" Returns

The first iteration of "Festival in a Field!" happened last year on August 21, organized by Do We Need This?, the local group opposing vaccination, masking, and other public health measures meant to contain the spread of COVID-19. A similar event will take place in the same location--Cowberry Crossing Farm in Claverack--tomorrow, September 10. This year, the "Health Freedom Speakers" include Tom Cowan, the former practicing physician who linked COVID-19 to 5G networks; and Bobbie Ann Cox, the lawyer who has supported right-wing conspiracy theories and claimed Biden's victory in 2020 was "stolen" and "a fraud."

Will Solomon has an article about tomorrow's festival in today's Times Union: "Anti-vaccine festival in Claverack concerns locals."

  1. It's reassuring to know that most of the county's resident conspiracy theorists will be gathering in Claverack to discuss their respective delusions. Hopefully the local militia will be there to protect these truly cognizant from the hordes of ANTIFA terrorists that are sure to attempt to infiltrate their ignorance-fest.

  2. Seems like there has been a whole lot of stupid out there among the populace for decades, but the lid was on it until they got permission from Trump to be their worst selves. They have been liberated!

  3. This this crap is getting seriously creaky. Starting to remind me of neo-hippies playing hacky-sack in a park in Woodstock.

  5. I worked for the wackos at Cowberry farm 15 years ago. Moneyed people, bad farmers.

  6. At least we're informed that, unfortunately, they continue to be active around here. You'd hope they burrowed back where they belong and deactivated. That's hoping though. Instead we're left wondering what's the next paranoid event?

  7. Cowberry Crossing is owned and operated by Richard and Cecile Harrison. They also own at least 4 rental properties in Hudson. 1 on Prospect St, one on Washington, an ugly one at 221 Robinson, and one of the ugliest of the uglies on 8th street at 32-34 8th. The sidewalk there is horrendous and this past winter they never bothered shoveling snow or removing ice from it. That's when I decided to find who owns it, using online county public real estate records. I was not one bit surprised that they owned it - they were slobs when I worked for them. On their farm's website they claim to be "local, humane and sustainable" farmers.

  8. Cute name too. An attempt at smoke and mirrors for only so long. The " local, humane and sustainable" is the latest catch-all phrase to hide behind. Interesting how they latch on and poach the very positive attributes that they themselves trash.
