Attention First Ward Residents

There is a meeting tomorrow night, Monday, April 16, for First Ward residents to discuss issues facing the First Ward and the city. The meeting takes place at 7 p.m. in the community room of the Chamber of Commerce office, the former Washington Hose Company firehouse at the western end of Warren Street. First Ward residents are asked to submit agenda items in advance of the meeting to AldermanMarston@cityofhudson.org

  1. Why can't the 1st Ward simply hold a meeting about issues that effect the 1st Ward, instead of making it about "the city" as a whole?

By advertising the meeting's purpose as encompassing city-wide issues, we are inviting city-wide representation.

There are multiple meetings every month of every year about city-wide issues, and almost no history of 1st Ward meetings.

We have serious things to discuss here, but this is really going to be a political meeting, isn't it?

We badly need a meeting for 1st Ward residents only. We do not need another showcase for politicians from other wards - some of whom are hostile to 1st Ward concerns - in which to defend their dubious records.
