Of Interest

Apropos the local conversation about PINS, there is an article in the New York Times this morning about public schools in Houston: "With Police in Schools, More Children in Court."

  1. Pipeline from schools to prison - privatized prisons need young and strong to be their work force - replacing illegal immigrants - so corporate power can cut expenses on their product.

  2. The biggest problem in Hudson is not lack of knowledge about the problem -- or even the solutions. It's acting on that knowledge and those recommended solutions. Just one example: last year's Code of Conduct review committee report ( I would guess that few of the 18 recommendations have been implemented. The district wonders why taxpayers vote NO on the budget.
