St. Winifred

Last week, the plaza that is the entrance to Promenade Hill was officially reopened, giving access once again to views of the river and to the statue of St. Winifred, which has been a feature of Promenade Hill since 1896.

A reader just reminded me that today, November 3, is the Feast Day of St. Winifred. For those who don't know the story of St. Winifred, you can find it here on Catholic Online. To honor St. Winifred on her day, you may want to pay her a visit before the sun sets.

Update: Because today is her Feast Day, Joey and I made a visit to Promenade Hill on our afternoon walk to pay homage to St. Winifred.
