Prison Break

What many of us believed would never happen happened on Saturday night: a prisoner escaped from the Hudson Correctional Facility. A reliable source reported that shortly before 11 p.m., the Catskill side of the Rip Van Winkle Bridge was teeming with state troopers who were checking all the cars coming from the east side of the river. On our side of the river, there were roadblocks on both Route 9G and Route 9 entering Hudson. Turned back on Route 9G, our Gossips reporter was able, despite a roadblock, to approach Hudson by way of Route 9, and it was there, just beyond Ten Broeck Lane, that the fugitive was observed, surrounded by state police officers and being handcuffed. Escaped prisoner apprehended, we can all sleep easy again.

  2. The guy was just a few months away from being eligible for parole. This incident might qualify for a Darwin Award.

  3. Got a call about an hour ago from someone asking if we had any tattooed escaped prisoners at the art opening last night. According the the caller two guys escaped, so maybe there is still someone wandering around?

  4. Who was the caller?

There's been no other report that more than one prisoner escaped, and it would be highly irreponsible for the police not to inform the public if there were an escaped prisoner in our midst.
