This morning, at a meeting of the Columbia County Democratic Committee in Valatie, Zephyr Teachout and Will Yandik each addressed the committee and other Democrats present and answered questions. After that, it was reported, the committee took a straw poll and then endorsed Yandik. Sam Pratt shares the news: "Reports: County Dems endorse Yandik over Teachout."

I have to say, they were both very impressive. But we are so fortunate to have a fabulous candidate born and bred in our own Columbia County!
ReplyDeleteI wholeheartedly agree with Virginia: a very impressive pair, who each spoke, first Zephyr and the Will, and took questions for over an hour in total. The "straw poll" was a formal vote of the Columbia County Democratic Committee, with more than the necessary quorum in attendance. The final vote to endorse Will Yandik was by acclamation.
ReplyDeleteZephyr Teachout ... I like her style of politics. I'm not impressed with home grown politicians...too close to the old boy network.
ReplyDeleteNice theory LS, but I know the candidate personally and I can tell you you're way, way off.
DeleteIf it's really a concern, I suggest that you speak with Mr. Yandik, and he'll quickly disabuse of the notion.
But isn't yours a novel theory!, that the individuals best suited for representing others should come from somewhere else. I thought I'd heard it all before, but apparently not.
Tim...I have a mind of my own thank you. I have no intention to meet Mr Yandik.
DeleteJust as I thought.
DeleteActually there was nothing theoretical about my decision. I've more intuitive. I like smart women. I'm sure Mr Yandik is a nice local guy with good bonafides.
DeleteImpressed by both, but having local farmer candidate seems to check all the boxes.
ReplyDeleteTeachout registered here in Columbia County just a couple of weeks ago. Not good. The Republicans will pound her with that issue. We don't need another Sean Eldridge experience.
ReplyDeleteHaving someone that's from the district, knows the issues the district faces and is articulate to communicate and address the issues is who should represent the district.
