A Chance to Be Part of the Solution

Back in the 1960s, Eldridge Cleaver is alleged to have said, "If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem." Actually, what he did say was, "There is no more neutrality in the world. You either have to be part of the solution, or you're going to be part of the problem." Either way, there is an opportunity for someone among us to be part of the solution when it comes to the Hudson City School District by becoming a member of the Board of Education.

The election of Tiffany Martin Hamilton as mayor of the City of Hudson has resulted in a vacancy on the HCSD board. That vacancy will be filled by someone selected by the board, who will serve until the next school board election on May 17, 2016. The selection process, which involves submitting a letter of interest and presenting oneself at a board meeting, is explained on the HCSD website.
Hudson CSD Board of Education seeking candidates
The Hudson City School District Board of Education is seeking candidates to fill a vacant seat of the Board of Education. The candidates will be asked to attend the January 25, 2016 Board meeting to speak to the Board. They will also be asked to respond to a list of questions provided to the candidates prior to the meeting. The Board will make their decision at the January 25, 2016 meeting.
If a candidate is selected to fill the seat on January 25, his/her term will run from January 25, 2016 through the next election on May 17, 2016.
Anyone interested in filling this position should send a letter of interest to Leslie Coons, Clerk of the Board, Hudson City School District, 215 Harry Howard Avenue, Hudson, NY 12534 by January 20, 2016.
