The Quest for Sustainable Progress

Although some think that Hudson has progressed very nicely in the past twenty years without a lot of planning and intervention, Hudson Valley Pattern for Progress, "a nonprofit policy, planning, advocacy and research organization dedicated to promoting sustainable solutions for economic growth," has chosen Hudson as one of twenty-five urban areas in the Hudson Valley for "assessment, monitoring, collaboration and engagement" as part of their Urban Action Agenda

The other twenty-four urban areas are Yonkers, Mount Vernon, New Rochelle, Poughkeepsie, White Plains, Beacon, Kingston, Middletown, Newburgh, Peekskill, Port Jervis, the villages of Brewster, Catskill, Ellenville, Haverstraw, Highfall Falls, Liberty, Monticello, Nyack, Walden, and Wappingers Falls, the hamlet of Nanuet, and the towns of Fishkill and Saugerties. You can read more about Pattern for Progress and Hudson in today's Register-Star: "Patterns [sic] for Progress has eye on Hudson."
