Over the weekend, I heard a rumor that there had been a stop-work order on the escarpment project, meant ultimately to cover the rock face below Promenade Hill with shotcrete. I tried and failed to get confirmation of this. Early this morning, when I went down there, it appeared that they might be packing up some of the heavy equipment, but alas, as I was heading home after walking Joey at the river, I encountered a giant cement truck headed south on Front Street. I made a U-turn and followed it--across the tracks at Broad Street and along Water Street to the boat launch and the work site.
It appears that, despite all the efforts to deter them, they may be getting ready to spray the rock face with concrete.
