Meetings of Interest in the Week Ahead

City government meetings for 2019 begin this week.
  • On Monday, January 7, at 4:00 p.m., at City Hall, the mayor holds a public hearing on Local Law No. 8 of 2018--the legislation that increases the fines for leaving pets confined in cars in extreme temperatures.
At 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 7, the Common Council holds its organizational meeting for 2019. Since there is no information to the contrary, it is assumed that the meeting will take place in the Council Chamber at City Hall.
  • On Tuesday, January 8, the Hudson Industrial Development Agency (IDA) meets at 1:00 p.m. IDA meetings typically take place in the conference room at 1 North Front Street. The proposed Red Barn Hudson project may be on the agenda.
  • On Thursday, January 10, the Planning Board meets at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall. On the agenda for the meeting is a proposal from Tin House LLC to construct a building with two commercial units and four residential units at 449-451 Columbia Street.
  • On Friday, January 11, at 9:30 a.m., the Historic Preservation Commission will make a site visit to Prison Alley above Park Place to assess the context of what is proposed for the rear of the Park Place firehouses.
At 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 11, the HPC holds its first meeting for the month of January at City Hall. The HPC is expected to continue its review of the proposed restoration of the Park Place firehouses. At this meeting, they will also hear from representatives of the State Historic Preservation Office about the process and the advantages of becoming a Certified Local Government.
