How Do You Get to Carnegie Hall?

Seth Rogovoy, author and Yiddish music expert (and Hudson resident), is producing an evening of Yiddish music and culture for Carnegie Hall.


The event, called From Shtetl to Stage, features top artists from the classical, Broadway, and Yiddish music worlds and will take place in Stern Auditorium at Carnegie Hall on Monday, April 15, at 8 p.m. For more information and to purchase tickets, click here.

Rogovoy is the author of The Essential Klezmer: A Music Lover’s Guide to Jewish Roots and Soul Music (Algonquin, 2001), the all-time bestselling guide to klezmer music. He is the founding artistic director of Yidstock: The Festival of New Yiddish Music, which takes place every July at the Yiddish Book Center in Amherst, Massachusetts. He is a contributing editor to The Forward, the world’s preeminent English-language publication of Jewish news and culture, and the author of Bob Dylan: Prophet, Mystic, Poet (Scribner, 2009), the only full-length critical biography that examines Dylan's life and work from a Jewish angle.
