The Bad with the Good

Today, the two trees were cut down in front of City Hall as part of the project to make the building ADA compliant.

The good news is that, although the trees may be gone, so is this ugly thing: the long nonfunctioning pay phone that was for years a magnet for graffiti.

  1. My quality of life went up dramatically when that dead phone kiosk was removed.

  2. Seems a bit unnecessary. How does a small tree near the curb prevent someone in a wheel chair from going inside of a building.

  3. See! Some things actually DO get accomplished in Hudson!

  4. Maybe an accomplishment to remove the phone box, but it is utterly ridiculous to cut down the trees. It may be ADA compliant but in my estimation it's stupid. We need trees, for greenery, for oxygen. The City should plant two more somewhere else to replace.

    1. The CAC will be planting 124 trees in Hudson in 2023. The majority will be financed by various grants, but there is sufficient money written into the 2023 budget to plant 15 trees, so whether or not this was done deliberately to replace the two trees lost in front of City Hall, this is being done.

    2. That's good news, but I did hear that before they cut down those two trees.
who knows if they were part of the plan. However, good for CAC and the budget.
