Leaving One's Mark

Time was faux Greek Revival columns and pilasters were the principal identifying element of Gallowegian architectural style.

Now, based on evidence provided by renderings displayed on the signs at 356 Union Street and 29-31 Fairview Avenue, there may be a signature color: dark teal blue. Can this be the Blue Period?

  1. Love the new architectural terminology: Gallowegian. Brilliant.

    1. Thanks! But I can't claim credit for coining the term. That goes to Byrne Fone, who was, to my knowledge, the first to use it more than a decade ago.

  2. Seems you're forgetting it was the influence of KEVIN WALKER that festooned the town with all those columns. Kevin was the driving force of the Gallowegian era. When he left town so did the columns.
