Meetings of Interest in the Week Ahead

As July morphs into August, the schedule of meetings in the last days of July and the first days of August is very light.
  • On Monday, July 29, the Common Council Fire Committee meets at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall.
  • On Tuesday, July 30, the DRI Committee will meet at 2:30 p.m. at City Hall. It is expected that at the meeting it will be made known which of the three firms making presentations to the committee this past Tuesday will be recommended to the Common Council to engage the community in planning and carrying out the renovation and restoration of Promenade Hill.

And that's it for the week.

  1. From the earlier Gossips' post (linked above):

"The third group spoke of 'sensitivity to place' and what was 'the original design intent.'"

Even though it's TOTALLY unclear whether or not public input is welcomed anymore, anybody who loves Hudson's history (or claims they do) is obliged to acknowledge the "3rd group" stands alone in honoring the Proprietors' wishes and the City Charter.

Think about that!, because there are plenty who won't and who couldn't care less about history.

Take a stand for "sensitivity to place" and for the Promenade's "original design intent." By doing so you'll simultaneously defend the grantors' explicit conditions, something the City is instructed to do in the Charter.

If public participation still has any place in this process ...
