Of Interest

Yesterday the New York Times reported that this house in Phoenix, Arizona, designed in 1952 by Frank Lloyd Wright for his son David, was scheduled to be demolished today by a developer: "Frank Lloyd Wright House in Phoenix Faces Bulldozers."

Fortunately, the Associated Press is reporting today that the house has gotten a stay of execution: "Demolition on Hold for Wright House in Phoenix."

  1. For Wright lovers, this is a true gem. And, as reporter Michael Kimelman (?) points out, the similarities to the Guggenheim museum are pretty apparent. The Times had a bunch of pictures online that show why Wright is so important.

  2. Why doesn't Eric G buy it and move it to lower Union Street?
