Over the weekend, I made some inquiries about the state of things across the river for my niece and her husband who were planning a vacation in the Hudson Valley and the Catskills next week. Because they were especially interested in the vistas that inspired the artists of the Hudson River School, I contacted the Thomas Cole National Historic Site, and this morning got a response from executive assistant Sheri DeJan, which included a link to a blog called Phil Haber's Photography Notes. Haber and his wife spent this past weekend in the Catskills, seeking out the sites that inspired Thomas Cole and others, and he tells about the experience on his blog. His posts include a paragraph about Hudson and this picture of Warren Street in the early morning.
