Nathan Mayberg has the story in today's Register-Star: "School Board VP resigns." Apparently, the resignation was sudden and dramatic. Mayberg reports that, after another hour-long executive session behind closed doors, Fout announced her resignation midway through the public part of the meeting, citing "the recent death of a neighbor," then stood up, and left the meeting. Asked by Mayberg to comment on her decision outside the meeting room, Fout reportedly responded, "I'm not allowed to comment."
The photograph shows Elizabeth Fout at a BOE meeting. It was not taken last night, and it does not show her tendering her resignation. It is a detail of a photograph that appeared on the HCSD website.
