It's been months since any work has been done on the "Hudson Arcade" project, located on Warren Street near Fifth, but early this morning materials and equipment were delivered to the site, and by noon, the framework for the two-story extension had been erected.
In July, the Planning Commission modified the site plan that had been approved when Filli's Market was to be the tenant, to allow deliveries from Cherry Alley during the hours of 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. The tenants being courted at the time planned to establish a food market in the building, but instead of using the second floor for residential space, as was originally proposed, they wanted to use it for office space and additional retail space.

...what happens here could very well affect the future of Warren street and the entire city of Hudson much more than any alternate school. the promise of fresh vegetables with lottery tickets is a bad one. HPC, please no trojan horses, what happens here will be the most important decision you ever make.
ReplyDeleteMichael--The Historic Preservation Commission gave a certificate of appropriateness to the design of the building in June 2012, and they have no authority over the use of the building. If there's a bad outcome, you can't blame them.
Delete...yes but, most recently they were in front of HPC because they wanted a variance that had something to do with truck deliveries at odd hours but then the potential mystery renter backed out. my memory can be sketchy but i believe i made a comment a few months back....
ReplyDeleteNope. It wasn't the HPC; it was the Planning Commission. See the post above. It talks about that and provides a link to my report about that meeting.
Delete...thank you for the correction Carole, it was the Planning Commission. let's hope galvan/lantern does come back when they know if the second floor will be used as planned, but,......with this group after the fact and secrecy is de riguer...
