What's Happening With the Senior Center?

That was the question asked toward the end of the Common Council Youth & Aging Committee meeting on Wednesday night. In answer, Council president Don Moore said that the memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Galvan Initiatives Foundation, which the City entered into in April, ran out at the end of May, and Galvan didn't want to extend it. Since then, he said, the City has not heard anything more about it from Galvan. Nor has the City heard from the Division of Homes & Community Renewal if the CDBG for $400,000, awarded in 2010, can be repurposed for the rehabilitation of the Officers' Hall at the Armory.
