Preservation League Names Seven to Save

The Preservation League of New York State just announced its Seven to Save for 2016-2017. The list can be viewed here. The single site on the list in the Hudson Valley is the very deserving Dutch Reformed Church in Newburgh. Hudsonians should feel a special connection with this glorious example of Greek Revival architecture, which was built in 1835. It was designed by Alexander Jackson Davis, whose association with the Dr. Oliver Bronson House is the reason for the designation of the house and estate as a National Historic Landmark.

  2. The structure is a wreck. It will be a miracle if they can save it, and I suppose they will.
