"It Was a Joke!"

As Gossips reported, Governor Andrew Cuomo tried to build some suspense before announcing that Hudson was getting the $10 million by saying there would be second, third, and fourth place winners in the Downtown Revitalization Initiative. It made some hearts sink momentarily, fearing that maybe Hudson had won some lesser amount, but apparently there were others who took him seriously. This morning WAMC reports that the governor's office has issued a statement to dispel the notion that the state would be doling out millions more than the original $100 million: "NY Gov Was Joking About Prizes For Cities, Office Says." Click here to listen.
