Tonight in Catskill

Gossips hasn't posted about the Wheelabrator ash landfill proposed for an abandoned quarry near Smith's Landing since February, when very little was known about the project. Now more is known, and tonight Riverkeeper is hosting a meeting in Catskill where concerned citizens can learn about the proposal and the risk it poses "to human and natural communities as well as the entire Hudson River ecosystem." The meeting takes place at 6:00 p.m. at the First Reformed Church, 310 Main Street, in Catskill. More information is available here: "Riverkeeper will host meeting on Wheelabrator proposal."
