The Columbia County Department of Health finally released its numbers at 6:30 p.m., but there is reason to believe they may not be entirely accurate. The CCDOH is reporting 77 new cases, but if you compare the total number of cases reported on December 31 (1,667) and the total number of cases reported today (1,704), the difference is only 37. The total number of active cases remains the same as it has been since December 30. There are seven more county residents hospitalized with the virus today as there were on December 31, but the number in the ICU remains the same. There has been one more death from COVID-19 in Columbia County, bringing the total to 50.
