As if what's going on at the Capitol wasn't enough terrible news for the twelfth and final day of Christmas, the Columbia County Department of Health today is reporting 70 new cases of COVID-19. The number of active cases today is 364, 39 more than yesterday, suggesting that 41 people have recovered since yesterday. There are 28 more county residents in mandatory quarantine today than yesterday, but there are six fewer people are hospitalized. The number in the ICU remains the same, at one. There has not been another death from COVID-19 in Columbia County since Monday.
