The Columbia County Department of Health has released its numbers for today. The difference between the total number of cases reported today and the total number reported yesterday is 89. Of those, 54 are described as new cases and 35 are identified as "additional cases reached from the weekend." It's not entirely clear what that means. The number of active cases is now 325--54 more than yesterday. That may mean that there have been 35 recoveries since yesterday, but 35 is the same as the number of cases "reached from the weekend." There are 32 fewer county residents in mandatory quarantine today than yesterday, and there is one fewer county resident hospitalized with the virus. The number in the ICU remains the same at one. Since yesterday, there has not been another death from COVID-19 in Columbia County.
The New York Forward dashboard is reporting a positivity rate for Columbia County yesterday of 5.2 percent and a seven-day average positivity rate of 6.7 percent. By comparison, the daily positivity rate for the Capital Region is 12.0 percent and the seven-day average is 10.1 percent.
