In a comment on Gossips' daily "COVID-19 Update," Chad Weckler referenced this article that appeared in the Register-Star: "2 infected with COVID after vaccination." The ill-considered headline makes it seem that the vaccination may have caused the two unfortunates to contract the virus. Such is not the case. Nor should we take from this that vaccines are ineffective. The real message is that being vaccinated does not make you invincible. Until the world achieves herd immunity, even those who have been vaccinated should continue to wear a mask, wash their hands, and keep their distance when in public.
