After three days of silence, the Columbia County Department of Health has once again published its COVID numbers. Since Friday, when the numbers were last reported, there have been a total of 25 new cases: 21 from Saturday to Monday, and four today. The number of active cases being reported today is seven fewer than Friday, from which it can be inferred that 32 more county residents are now considered to be recovering from the virus. There are 39 more county residents in mandatory quarantine today than Friday, and three more are hospitalized with the virus. Three of those hospitalized are in the ICU. There has not been a death from COVID-19 in Columbia County since Thursday, March 4.
The New York Forward dashboard is reporting a positivity rate for Sunday in Columbia County of 1.0 percent and a seven-day average of 1.6 percent. By comparison, the positivity rate for Sunday in the Capital Region was 2.3 percent and the seven-day average was 2.0 percent.
