It was just announced that the Common Council Tourism & Events Committee will be meeting tomorrow, Friday, May 6, at 3:30 p.m. The meeting will take place virtually, but the link to the meeting has not yet been published.
Update: The link to the meeting is now available. Click here to join the meeting.
The major agenda item is considering a second batch of requests for funding, for the following events:
- Bangladeshi Cultural Fair (BASH)
- Bindlestiff Family Cirkus Flatbed Follies
- Dalmatian Day (FASNY)
- Hudson in Concert (Hudson Festival Orchestra)
- Hudson LAFS (The Bantabaa Theatre)
- LatinX Parade and Festival (Columbia County Sanctuary Movement)
- Sankofa Hudson Black Arts & Cultural Festival (Operation Unite)
- Second Saturdays with the Park Theater Hudson
At the meeting, it is also expected that the committee will make a recommendation/decision about Warren Street Seasonal Usage 2022. Does outdoor dining in the parking lanes return or does it not? Do the cement blocks return or do they get retired forever?
Wow. Almost a full twenty-five hours' notice before a meeting late on a Friday afternoon -- expect many attendees do they? Such a cynical exercise in governance. Oh and doesn't the NYS Open Meetings Law require a one-week notice before a public meeting? Last I checked it did.
ReplyDeleteOnly one very easy decision. No more cement blocks.
ReplyDeleteNo cement blocks. Return of flower boxes for restaurants
