More Money for Events

On Friday, in addition to discussing the nature of Warren Street Shared Usage 2022, the Common Council Tourism & Events Committee doled out the funds remaining for festivals and events in 2022. There were eight requests for funding, totaling $65,087. The committee had only $14,650 left from the $51,000 it started out with. Of the eight events seeking financial support, the following five will be getting funds from the City:

• Sankofa Hudson Black Arts & Cultural Festival (Operation Unite)  $5,000
• Bangladeshi Cultural Fair (BASH)  $2,500
• LatinX Parade and Festival (Columbia County Sanctuary Movement)  $2,500
• Bindlestiff Family Cirkus Flatbed Follies  $1,000
• Second Saturdays with the Park Theater Hudson   $3,650
